Young Singers Marks 20 Years of Making Music

Young Singers of the Palm Beaches is celebrating their 20th Anniversary and the power of singing at their upcoming concert: Hear the Future. Sunday, May 7, 2023, the public is invited to enjoy songs based on themes Young Singers teaches and encourages: empathy, acceptance, friendship, compassion, service, strength, self-confidence, and joy.
• Young Singers of the Palm Beaches is a 280-member strong choir comprised of children in grades 2 through 12.
• Joining the choir on stage will be 30 children from their Choir in the Glades, which is a free choir offered to Belle Glade elementary students.
• To further show the expansion and reach of the Young Singers, 140 elementary school students from 7 area schools will be performing on the steps of the Kravis Center’s lobby in a pre-concert “Beyond the Stage” performance at 3:30 p.m. The students are part of the Prime Time Your Singers Program, made possible with support from Prime Time Palm Beach County, which receives significant funding from the Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County, Inc. This performance will debut a new song written and composed by YSPB’s Artistic Director, Shawn Berry. Titled “It’s a Prime Time For Singing,” the piece was made about and specifically for their Prime Time Young Singers Program.
• The live orchestra for the concert is made up of teens from Palm Beach County schools who will be joining local music professionals. YSPB choir member, Musiq Williams will be playing the cello on two songs in addition to singing with the choir on others.
• 35 children and teens from Dance Theater of Florida, a youth dance company, will be performing on two numbers to accompany the Young Singers.
