Who is Mary Murray?
Mary Murray is the mother of Young Singers’ managing director, Melanee Blankstein. Mary’s connection to Young Singers began many years ago when her grandsons, Drew and Tyler, became members of the choir. She worked backstage at YSPB concerts, and assisted in many ways as a volunteer. When Mary passed away in 2013, her family formed the fund a year later to honor her memory by helping others, something Mary did on a daily basis.
Who Benefits from the Mary Murray Scholarship?
YSPB’s annual 5K event benefits the Mary Murray Scholarship Fund at Young Singers of the Palm Beaches. The scholarship fund was created to assist children who have an interest in singing and a desire to train and perform with Young Singers of the Palm Beaches but are unable to financially do so. This scholarship fund covers full and partial scholarships to Young Singers.
