Young Singers of the Palm Beaches children’s community choir is thrilled to welcome Jorge Perez to their Board of Directors.

Jorge is the proud father of three alumni of Young Singers of the Palm Beaches (YSPB). He and his wife were immediately drawn to the organization’s culture, which reflected the values they instilled at home. Through YSPB, they came to appreciate how choral training and vocal instruction cultivate essential life skills. The extensive rehearsals and performances fostered teamwork, discipline, and leadership, while also building stage presence, confidence, and public speaking abilities. His daughters, Olivia, Sofia, and Mariah, benefitted greatly from these experiences, forming lasting friendships and developing a deep appreciation for music.

During their years at YSPB, Jorge and his wife were active volunteers. Jorge also had the opportunity to work closely with Mr. Berry, Ms. D, Ms. Beth, and Ms. Melanee, among other distinguished faculty, all of whom he regards as exceptional educators and leaders.

Born and raised in Cuba, Jorge and his family briefly relocated to Madrid, Spain, before settling in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, when he was 12. Florida has remained his home ever since. He is a licensed Florida Registered Architect with more than 30 years of professional experience and currently serves as District Architect for the School District of Palm Beach County. His career has been dedicated to planning and designing educational facilities and campuses across the region.

Community and service have always been central to Jorge’s life. He has served as a mentor in the ACE Mentor Program of America, guiding high school students interested in careers in architecture, engineering, and construction. Under his mentorship, the William T. Dwyer Community High School team earned the ACE Gold Medal in the previous academic year. He also mentors Hispanic students through the Take Stock in Children program. In addition, Jorge actively supports the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County through participation in its annual Heroes for Education 5K and volunteer service at the Bill Malone FORE Our Schools Golf Tournament.

Jorge is a member of St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church and a Knight of Columbus. Beyond his professional and community commitments, he finds his greatest fulfillment in supporting his daughters as they establish their professional careers.

He resides in Palm Beach Gardens with his wife, Janet, a longtime member of the Palm Beach Opera choir, who has been instrumental in raising their three daughters. Jorge is honored to rejoin Young Singers of the Palm Beaches as a member of the Board of Directors and looks forward to contributing to the continued success of the organization.
