Young Singers' Board Announces New Executive Director

YSPB
Congratulations to long-time YSPB Managing Director, Melanee Blankstein, on her promotion to Executive Director.
West Palm Beach, FL — Young Singers of the Palm Beaches (YSPB) is proud to announce the appointment of Melanee Blankstein as its new Executive Director. A longtime member of the YSPB family, Blankstein brings a deep passion for the organization’s mission along with extensive experience in marketing, management, and nonprofit leadership.

Melanee’s journey with Young Singers began in 2007 when her sons joined the choir. A year later, she became a full-time team member, quickly becoming an integral part of the organization’s growth and community impact. Her professional background includes leadership roles with national and international retail chains, where she honed her skills in business strategy, operations, and training.
In 2014, following the passing of her mother, Mary Murray, Melanee and her family created the Mary Murray Scholarship Fund to honor her mother’s legacy and provide financial assistance to families who might otherwise be unable to afford participation in YSPB programs. The annual Mary Murray Scholarship 5K Walk/Run has since raised over $200,000—empowering countless young singers to pursue their love of music.

A graduate of Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Melanee is also a dedicated community leader. While raising her three sons, she served as a substitute teacher and volunteered extensively in local schools. Her leadership in the community has included roles as PTA President, SAC Chairperson, and event chair for numerous charitable initiatives. She is a recipient of the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce’s “Doing Good in the Neighborhood” award and has served on the Delray Beach Education Board and the Board of Governors at the Delray Beach Playhouse.

“I am honored and humbled to take on this role with an organization that means so much to me and my family,” said Blankstein. “Young Singers is more than a choir—it’s a place where lives are transformed through music, friendship, and opportunity.”
