YSPB Prime Time Choirs Enrich 1,400 Children in 2020-2021

YSPB afterschool choirs provided 500 music sessions to over 1,400 children in Title 1 aftercare and summer camp sites in FY 2020-2021.
The Covid pandemic brought many challenges to 2020 and 2021, but the staff and conductors of Prime Time and Young Singers of the Palm Beaches did not let any of those challenges prevent them from bringing songs, smiles and self-esteem to children.

YSPB's Prime Time conductors produced 72 online music lessons and an assortment of literacy-based music lessons, incorporating children’s books and various musical themes from singing and rhythm to dance and musical theater. All of these offerings were  available to the public for free weekly online during 2020. YSPB conductors and staff participated in Prime Time’s Virtual Summer Camp, offering music classes 5 days a week for 7 weeks. Additionally, conductors taught hybrid choirs and produced videos and virtual concerts featuring their live and online singers. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of these outstanding teachers and staff over 1,400 Palm Beach County children benefited from the power of song.

YSPB's after-school and virtual choirs enrich children with all the benefits such as a sense of belonging, self-confidence, becoming a better reader, as well as learning vocal techniques, proper posture and breathing, tone production, and learning to sight read music.

Since 2011, Young Singers of the Palm Beaches has provided free after-school and summer camp choral programming at various schools and out-of-school care sites throughout our Palm Beach County, all thanks to funding from Prime Time Palm Beach County, Inc. which receives significant funding from the Children's Services Council of Palm Beach County, Inc.
