Bob Margolis

Community Liaison

Bob Margolis is a long-term resident of Palm Beach County, whose active service to the community is a welcome benefit to Young Singers of the Palm Beaches.

Mr. Margolis served as the Village of Wellington’s very first Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Chair and served on the Board from 1998 to 2003. Mr. Margolis also served on the Blue Ribbon Task Force in 1999, whose purpose was to determine future parks and recreation services. Mr. Margolis also served on the Palm Beach County Sports Commission.

Mr. Margolis has been actively involved in recreational programs for many years.  He was also president of the Wellington High School Booster Club for four years. He coached in both recreational and travel basketball for over 10 years and served as President. 

Bob Margolis was first appointed to the Wellington Village Council in April of 2003, and was then elected in March of 2004 and served until 2008. In 2012, he was elected Mayor of Wellington. 

Mr. Margolis was a health care professional with Procter & Gamble for 26 years prior to his retirement. He played a vital role in negotiations for the Village employee’s health and benefits package. His many years of experience in the healthcare arena proved to be invaluable to the Village during the negotiation process.

Additionally, Mr. Margolis served as Vice Chair on the Florida League of Cities Pension Trust. The Trust administered 198 retirement plans covering nearly 5000 participants, with a fiduciary net position of $522.4 million. More than 100 local governments participated in the Trust.
