Ms. McHugh grew up in Northern New Jersey. She studied with teachers from Juilliard School of Music and attended Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey where she received her Bachelor of Music in Piano with a minor in voice. She studied piano and organ and was accepted as a double principal in both but eventually concentrated on piano. Ms. McHugh accompanied The New Jersey Ballet, and had a private piano studio in New Jersey and then in Florida for over 20 years. She was also an Allstate Flute and picccolo player and named to Who’s Who in High School Musicians. She is a District and State judge for piano for FAACS at Palm Beach Atlantic College and this year for Palm Beach County District S and E. She has been an accompanist for Spotlight on Young Musicians at the Kravis Center, Pathfinder Awards and Palm Beach County Choral Festival. This will be Ms. McHugh’s fourth year accompanying for the Watch A Rising Star Event at the Kravis. This is an event held by The Junior Achievement that gives monetary awards to the top five senior vocalists in Palm Beach and Martin County. She has traveled with the Young Singers to accompany performances at Lincoln Center, Oregon and New Mexico. In 2016 she will travel to Europe with a choir to play for their performance tour. Ms. McHugh continues to accompany several private and public schools for concerts or evaluations. This will be her ninth year with the Young Singers of the Palm Beaches.
