Young Singers: A community that celebrates collaboration through music

Last season Young Singers added a new satellite choir in North Palm Beach County, following in the footsteps of their successful South County choir. Both the North County and South County choirs welcome children in grades 3 through 5 from all schools or homeschool settings who have an interest in singing.
The Young Singers of the Palm Beaches (fondly known as YSPB), is our local community children's choir that has been enriching our area since 2003. Offering choral training and performance opportunities for children from elementary through high school, YSPB encourages young singers to grow in their understanding of music while learning valuable life skills such as teamwork, leadership, discipline, and self-expression. The organization provides young people with opportunities to perform in world-class venues, collaborate with other talented musicians, and develop their passion for music. The choir is a beloved part of the local arts community and continues to inspire young performers across our region.

The newer YSPB North County Choir rehearses at First Presbyterian Church at 717 Prosperity Farms Road, in North Palm Beach, on Thursdays at 5:45 p.m.

The South County Choir rehearses at the Boynton Beach Cultural Arts Center on Wednesdays at 5:45 p.m.
Auditions are available for those interested in joining YSPB’s North County Choir or South County Choir, although no prior choral experience is required. For more information on how to enroll or to learn more about the program, visit the Young Singers of the Palm Beaches website at www.yspb.org/audition.

Both the North County and South County choirs are led by YSPB Conductor Terrion Nelson, a highly respected music educator and performer in Palm Beach County. With over 30 years of experience in teaching and directing choral ensembles, Nelson brings a wealth of expertise and a deep passion for youth music education to the choir.
Young Singers of the Palm Beaches gives children the platform to come together and form a community that celebrates collaboration through music. It’s a safe arena for children to develop their musical abilities while making lasting friendships with their peers.  For over two decades, YSPB has provided exceptional musical opportunities for young people, nurturing not just their vocal talent, but their growth as confident and creative individuals. With the addition of the satellite choirs, the organization is continuing its mission to expand access to high-quality choral education across the region.

The North and South County choirs learn the same performance music as YSPB’s Kravis-based Treble Choir. The singers are invited to perform in a community Ensemble and the choirs all join together on stage at the Kravis Center for YSPB’s Winter Concert on December 14, 2025 and Spring Concert on May 10, 2026.

Young Singers is sponsored in part by the Board of County Commissioners, the Tourist Development Council and the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County.
