By being involved in Young Singers your
singer will receive professional music education,
meet other singers, experience unique performance
opportunities and have fun! Each family is expected
to commit to consistent participation over a 10 month
season.
Auditions are held in spring, summer and fall and
periodically throughout the year if there are openings
in the choir. See our event
calendar for dates.
Auditions are open to students in grades 3 - 12.
All singers will be asked to match pitch and vocalize
range. Singers are asked to prepare a short, simple,
memorized solo which shows the beauty of their voice.
Cantate Auditions
Young Singers started a new choir for 2007-2008 season.
This choir is comprised of treble voices ages 11-17
that have sight reading ability, superior vocal technique
as well as dedication and regular attendance at rehearsals
and performances.
Choir members are expected to attend all rehearsals
and performances during a two semester season. Absences
are intended for family emergencies, confining illnesses
or a school performance. If a singer accumulates more
than 2 absences per semester, the singer and their
family must meet with their conductor prior to continuing.
Young Singers is a not-for-profit organization which
relies on fundraising, community support, and tuition
in order to provide its services to the community.
Tuition for the 2007-2008 choir year is $560. This
amount represents only a fraction of the actual per
singer cost of our program, the balance of which is
made up with fundraising activities, donations, and
performance revenues. Your financial commitment is,
therefore, vital to the success of the organization.
We encourage you to participate in the various fundraising
activities that are scheduled throughout the year.
We also request that you contact your employer for
information about available charitable giving programs,
so that we may seek additional sources of support.
Information about grant opportunities is always appreciated.

All fees paid to Young Singers are non-refundable,
in whole or in part, and are non-transferable. Tuition
for the year is due in full, even if a child drops
out of the program or is removed at any time during
the year. Tuition is not prorated and is due in full
at the beginning of the choir year at Orientation,
or the date on which the child is registered if that
date occurs after the official Orientation day. Installment
payments may be arranged with the office for a small
service fee. Sibling discounts are also available.
For more information, contact the Young Singers office
at (561) 659-2332.
Registration Fee
A non-refundable registration fee of $50 per singer
is due at the time of submission of the registration
materials. This fee should accompany the singers
Confidential Family Survey, Season Commitment, and
Financial Commitments documents.
Financial Assistance
Need-based financial assistance is available for eligible
families. For information about financial aid, please
contact our office at (561) 659-2332.
Young Singers could not exist without the active involvement
and participation of the parents. As a not-for-profit
organization, we are heavily dependent upon the efforts
of parents to assist with the operations of the choirs
and with the fundraising activities. We ask that each
parent volunteer his or her time, talent, and resources
to the extent that each is able. Each family is requested
to donate at least 6 hours of time per singer during
the course of the choir year. Please contact our office
to learn about volunteer opportunities and fundraising
activities.
Communication between Young Singers and the parents
is very important. Parents are urged to attend all
Parent Meetings. These meetings are scheduled periodically
throughout the year to keep parents advised of performances,
schedule changes, tour updates, and other important
choir news.
In addition, brief updates are sent to the parents
every week via e-mail. In order to ensure that you
receive all correspondence, please keep the office
informed of any change in your e-mail address. These
changes can be sent to bethclark@yspb.org.
