James Paul conducts the YSPB Men’s Choir, which has grown to include more than forty boys, grades six through twelve.
James Paul is the Choral Director at Jensen Beach High School in Martin County. He attended Martin County High School where he was taught and inspired to teach by Ronald Corbin. After graduation he attended Stetson University on a vocal music scholarship. He studied voice with Dr. Robert Rich, Mrs. Molly Rich, and Dr. Andrew Larson. He sang in the Stetson Singers, the Stetson University Concert Choir and the Choral Union for four years under the direction of Dr. Duncan Couch. He also studied choral conducting with Dr. Couch. Mr. Paul graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. Upon returning to Stuart, Mr. Paul became the Director of Music at Tropical Farms Baptist Church, where he continues to serve. In the fall of 2004 Mr. Paul became the first Choral Director at Jensen Beach High School. The choral program at JBHS now encompasses six choirs and 135 students. Under his direction, JBHS choirs have received superior ratings at District, State, and National Festivals. Mr. Paul continues to love to teach and sing and is a member of FMEA, FVA, and ACDA.
